StarWound is an Anglophone nine-year-old band based in Athens.
Their music fuses a cabaret ambience with elements of jazz, rock, classical and traditional genres.
Their lyrics, which arise from the philosophical and social concerns of modern society, are characterized both by realism and poetry.
They have participated in many international Festivals ranging from Switzerland, UK, Belgium, The Netherlands, North Macedonia to Luxembourg.
In 2021 they collaborated with the Greek National Opera composing "Dancing Cloud', a work dedicated to the memory of the principal dancer Sasha Neskov.
StarWound was an official showcase artist @ Eurosonic 2020 Groningen The Netherlands.
Konstantina Stavropoulou (vocals & synths) participated as a singer in the European Union’s Main Concert for refugees in BOZAR, Brussels. She has also participated in many dancing and musical shows in well-known music halls and theatres in Greece.
Petros Bouras (pianist & composer)also has a remarkable solo career away from StarWound. Among his compositions for films and theatrical plays, he performed in 16 countries including China and the USA.
Dimitris Azorakos, (drums) through a long career in jazz, soul and funk ensembles, has contributed to the distinctive sound of StarWound, dominating the rhythmical dimension of the band.
